Front: West Union, SC June 23, 1922
Dear Grandparents,
I received your letter not long ago and sure was surprised to hear from you because I had almost forgotten about writing to you it had been so long. I had begun to think that you no longer thought of us who live so far away from
Inside: the rest of you. Marshal I suppose has finished school for the balance of his life, he quit school before he finished the ninth grade. Yes I thought that he would surely finish high school but he didn't. All of the familyis getting along alright I think at present any way and I hope all of you all the same [illegible] first be and did not come up to a stand but those were enough to make a mess and we have had several mess now. No mother has not got mant thinking. She has had a lots hatched off but most all of the first ones died, and some of the last one's died too. I am thinking of going to Winthrop College next year that is if I can pass the examination and I would
Back: like to come this summer but I don't know how it will be [illegible] mildred, I wish she would come and spend a week with me. It would seem longer here th [illegible] it does [illegible] from any on and mother [illegible] be they do not care for her any. All of you come and all of you "write soon" Carol
