Dear Mother + Dad:
Hello, how are you, I hope just fine and the old world is treating you swell. Me, I'm O.K. just want to go home to my wife and son, I stay lonely and homesick for them. I guess spring has finally come, I hope so anyway. Did your fruit get by this year I hope that it did and you will have plenty of it. Won't be too long now before the strawberries (illegible) peaches will be getting ripe a little over a month. I don't imagine Bob stopped over here, I haven't heard anything from him, hope you received a letter from him yet it takes a little while for the first one though, so I don't imagine you have. He'll get by O.K. so don't worry about him, he'll be able to take care of himself. I'm glad he was able to get his furlough. I bet he enjoyed being away from the Army for a few days. I imagine your garden is coming up by now, hope you have a good one, fresh vegetables are nice to have. I get the Greer paper, they usually come in bunches, that way of papers. I enjoy reading it, yet I know so few of the people there anymore. I imagine your flowers are lovely by now, that is something Georgia and I are going to love when we have our own home and lots of Gardenia bushes, she loves them best of all. I imagine Gus' baby is a pretty good size boy now and is getting (illegible) everything. He will soon be a year old won't he. Bruce will be two next month and we haven't got to meet yet. I just wonder was he'll think of his old daddy when we do, he is really an adorable little rascal, if I do say so and gets with everything. Georgia and Bruce mean everything to me and I hope that soon I can go home to them, that will be a wonderful day. I imagine Dick is pretty busy now with spraying, plowing and everything. Are you having much a a large crop this year, it is hard to get help I know and most likely you'll have to let part of your (illegible).
Well, I sign off and close, Good nite. Tell all hello.
Love to all
Bill
