Dear Etta
I wrote to you yesterday but there was no mail. So I did not get it off. I received your letter. and was very sorry when I read its contents, but I hope all things will be well in the end. you must cheer up and put on a good face, and try and do your duty. as your old Mother always has tryed to do, and I hope all will be well in the end. I heard nothing from your Pa that he was hurt at any any thing. it is strange you all have not learnt his independent way it is perfectly natural with him. he did not mean to trouble you. he was very sorry to leave you so distressed, you know he would give you any thing on this earth you need for your comfort, he saw Pr. Towns and told him he had the money any time he will send you some money in a few days there is always some one passing, rest assured you shall have some money in a short time, some day this week I hope. I will send the money also to Eliza. I have no help yet have not heard from Miss Nima yet,
I think for the present you had better let your Music alone for this month, until you get [squarely?] set in with your other studdies. you must practice all you can and do your best, you must remember that we are sacrafising for your welfare; your Cousin Lissie is there and says Bulah has a tooth, your Grandma sends love to you and says she often thinks of you, and says try and be satisfied, was very sorry to see your Pa so troubled about you crying so,
All joins Me in love to you & Eliza
Your loving Mother
VE Bailey
