Dear Etta I write to inform you that this leaves us all well your Pa is right sick but keeps up. your Grand Ma is improving all the rest in there usual health, we have Mr. Bishop with us tonight he is very pleasant. The Bride called on me this afternoon she is a very nice lady just as plain as you please. Etta we was all well pleased with your report. But now my dear child let me see some more tins next time. I am very busy trying to make the boys some clothes for school I think your Pa will send them, Fannie is not well her ears are still very sore have had to take out the strings and let them grow up have had to have them lanced twice.
Etta you need not expect much more for it is now bod time have been talking with the Preacher. I will try and come up on next friday or saturday if all is well enough for me to leave & if not will send you some money and you can do the best you can, I think I will go up in the buggy & return the same day, if your Pa is no better I cant stay away at night, Mr. Branch Vaughn is to be buried at Pleasant Grove tomorrow don’t think I can go, Miss Nancy will go tomorrow she appears to be mighty troubled, Bettie talks about you every day, says I must kiss you for her,
