Dear Etta
We recieved your letter was glad to hear from you. This leaves us some better your Pa stood his trip very well. Miss Nima Bettie & myself spent last sunday at Mr. Woods enjoyed ourselves very much had everything nice to eat John as entirely recovered from his sickness is as fat a pig. Your Aunt Nancy & Carrie spent yesterday with us they was all well. I have not seen your GranMa since you was here she is as well as usual, we are having our Chimney. fixed I do hope it will quit smoking. we are getting on very well with your stockings. will soon have them done. The children is getting on very well at school have missed last week without a whipping, I hear your friends Dicksons are going to move to Greenville. They have almost run aground again dont know any thing certain Mr. Reid spent last wednesday night with us the church has decided on Mr. Bishop for our preacher for another year his first appointment will be on the next 4th sunday. hope we will all be pleased with him. Miss Nancy has given us another hitch, she left again last Monday for good. she was very hard to satisfy in our settlement
Plue King has got back from Charlotte have not seen her since her return, we are not doing much in the sewing line have a Calico Dress to make for Miss Nina, and some clothing for the children. Mrs. Pollard is sick, all the rest of Greers is well as far as I know Mr & Mrs. Noah Cannon has gone to Atlanta this week. I believe I have told you all I can think of at present all join me in love to you & your Aunt. also Docia tell her [Pierce?] is as pretty as ever. I send your report we are glad to see you are improving a little try every time to mend a little.
