Dear Sister
Thinking you would probably like to hear from us. I take the present opportunity of writing you a short letter. We arrived home safe found Mother’s gone to Mr. Henrys. We called to see Mrs. Mattie Austin she appeared very glad to see me insistive for Mary and Myself to isi her we met Mr John Austin also he dise not have much to say. Lizzie was not at home she was gone to Augusta with Jimmie and his wife. I suppose you have heard he is married to a Miss Earl of Anderson. I am sorry to have to inform you of the death of Mrs Henry’s baby it died last Saturday night after a great deal of suffering she had it buried in our grave yard thinks probably they will remove it to Charleston sometime but I think it very doubtful.
Tell Janie somebody that saw her at the factory is taking on very extensively. he has sent Mary a handkerchief to hem stitch for him I think he is getting on finely having this work done for him.
I am expecting today or tomorrow some Company Miss Emma Smith and her brother Dock he is home from the army he is going back very soon. you may think I am flying around very extensively had the house scoured yesterday and cleaned up nicely.
Mother sais she was at the cherry tree this morning and thought of you wished you had some the trees are very full and they are ripe now if you will come up you can help your self. I had like to have forgotten to tell you we saw George Lester and his bride going up they went upon friday to Mr. Westmorelands and from there to North Carolina they was in a Carriage driving two very fine grey horses George looked Mighty happy Dr Morgan told me they was married at ten OClock she was dressed in white and then dressed in black silk for dinner the dress I suppose George gave her which he gave seventy five dollars for. before they was married how do you like that plan.
Johns family was her to the burying they are well the baby is getting well I believe I have written you all the news so I will close
Write soon Your loving sister
