- William Edwards was one of Greer's last blacksmiths, with a shop located near the middle of town. He was the son of W. Joseph Edwards and Sarah Adeline Powell Edwards, and married Minnie Dee Westmoreland. By the end of his life, at age 52, he had returned to carpentry work.
