MEMBERS OF THE GREER HIGH golf team are shown at the Greer Country Club Tuesday afternoon prior to their match with Pickens High. Left to right, they are Steve McManus, Gary Crawford, Walter Burch, Pete Roe, youngest member of the team and an eighth grader at Davenport Junior High; and Coach Lewis Phillips. Pickens went on to win the match which was played under extremely rough conditions for both teams. Winds of 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph made it the worse day thus far for the season.
