W.A. FRASER Sovereign Commander
Sovereign Camp
WOODMEN OF THE WORLD
W.O.W. BUILDING
OMAHA, NEB.
December 26, 1923.
Chairman Board of Auditors.
Esteemed Sovereign: Our records show that you were elected as Chairman of the Board of Auditors of your Camp. The position of Camp Auditor is very important and I am addressing this letter to you to lay special stress on this fact.
The duties of the Auditors are clearly defined in our laws. Among others, they shall have charge of securities, investigate all loans and investments, audit reports, books and accounts of the Camp officers, and make full reports the first meeting of the Camp in January and July each year.
It is very important that you, as the chairman, call the members of the board together as soon as possible and make a complete and thorough investigation if the books of account of officers of the Camp. The purpose of this investigation is discovering and disclosing the truth about accounts and to make an accurate statement of the affairs of the Camp. Please no not put off this important duty, but proceed with all possible despatch to comply with the above mentioned law requirement. Should you find that the books or accounts of any officer or member do not properly balance, you should immediately report same to this office so that proper steps can be taken for the protection of individual members, Camp and Sovereign Camp.
At this time we view with profound satisfaction many momentous things that have been accomplished during the year. The completion of our War Memorial Hospital is one of the oustanding features speaking for itself in terms more eloquent than all the fine phrases of gifted speakers. Its humanitarian work is now in full blast. We are now taking care of 150 patients--members of the Society. It is pleasant to know that several have been cured and returned to the world as useful citizens.
This Society now occupies the foremost position among the fraternal societies. It is 100 per cent plus solvent, and we wish to announce that $1,000,000 will be returned to our members in January. This large amount of refund is made possible by judicious investment of the funds, low death rate and careful management.
I gladly appreciate the splendid co-operation we are receiving throughout the jurisdiction and trust you will continue to loyally support us in our endeavors to attain still greater results.
With best wishes for a Happy and Prosperous New Year for yourself and family, I am,
Truly and fraternally yours,
WA Fraser
Sovereign Commander.
